My Tours

Although I offer my services throughout the country, I do have a few strong suits.

Here is an overview of some of them, where I try to focus on authenticity and the path less travelled.

I offer (half-)day tours including transportation aswell as walking tours in all named cities.

Utrecht

Having lived in Utrecht for over 10 years, I have experienced the city first hand.
If you are up for it, I will show you places no other guide will go to or know of…

This city started out as one of the Roman settlements on the most northern border
of the Roman Empireand is now a vibrant student citywith it’s famous and
one-of-a-kind whalf cellars alongside the romantic canals.

Join me on a search for hidden courtyards and even churches!

WWII

World War Two history is a true passion of mine.
Join me on a tour that takes you back to the 1940’s and lets you immerge into important and sometimes untold stories.

Visiting the National War Museum, alongside a former airport, former concentration camp ‘Kamp Amersfoort‘ and well kept bunkers and defense lines are only a few of the options we have.

Pick-up and return to Amsterdam or hop on a Tuk Tuk after your 30 mins. trainride to Amersfoort. Perhaps you are more interested in touring in the most Dutch way possible? I also offer bicycle-tours that start in Amersfoort.

Amersfoort

EUROPEAN CITY OF THE YEAR 2024

As far as I am concerned, one of the most underestimated cities in the Netherlands.
I have to admit a little bias is present, for I’m living in Amersfoort for over 5 years now. Nevertheless I am convinced a visit will not disappoint!

The historical city center is absolutely breathtaking and picturesque. The old canals, citywalls that date back to the 14th century and hidden courtyards.

Also, Amersfoort is the birthplace of Mondriaan.
Mondriaan is mainly known for his abstract artwork that contain straight lines and primairy color. Learn about his life, artwork and why he ended up painting the ‘Victory Boogie Woogie in New York City’.

Royal Tour

Castle de Haar

Who doesn’t like a royal treatment?

LOO PALACE
Until somewhat 50 years ago the Loo Palace (Paleis het Loo) was inhabited by members of the royal family.
Experience the cars and carriages at the stables, walk through the gardens or be amazed by the total grandeur of the interior.

CASTLE DE HAAR
Not only is Netherlands’ biggest castle, but perhaps it’s most unique of it’s kind. Unlike others, this castle caters the more modern needs. Heating, running water and telephones. Be amazed by the impressive designs and comfort this castle offers.

Hanseatic Tour

Deventer

Talking about off the beaten track…

DEVENTER
One of the most wealthy cities in Europe during the late medieval ages, Deventer is a treasurechamber of history and the atmosphere is like nowhere else.

Learn why this city offers many British events like the Dickens festival every Christmas and the Go Ahead Eagles Football club is referred to as the English Football Experience in the Netherlands.

I will guide you with firsthand experiences, having been born just outside Deventer and lived in the center for over 10 years.

ZUTPHEN
Visiting a historical city doesn’t come more ‘off the beaten track’ than this! Don’t be surprised when you are the only foreign tourists around and enjoy the authenticity!

Zutphen being called ‘city of towers‘ caters to anyones needs.
Shops that not only take you back into history but also sell the highest quality goods, like coffee, wine and candy.
A library built in the 16th century and still shows books on chains.

Heritage Tours

Anne Nygård's picture

In 2024 I have been researching my family’s history. It resulted in two focus points; I have many relatives in the United States (Wisconsin), also I have managed to follow my family tree all the way back to the early 1700’s.

Finding it fascinating to do the research and details involved, I would be honored to help others in the same way.

On top of that I can provide a tailor made itinerary that not only brings you back to your ancestors lands but also creates memories that will last.

Provide me with your families history and we’ll put together an unforgettable experience!

Arnhem

City Gate Arnhem

City of parks.
City of the Battle of Arnhem.
City of Trolleybusses.
City of history.

The city and area around Arnhem offer a lot of World War Two history. Many museums, locations and burial grounds are worth visiting.

The Open Air Museum shows Dutch history throughout the centuries and easily entertains for a full day.

One of the countries biggest and nicest Zoo is located in Arnhem.

And then you haven’t even seen the city-center!
