By purchasing a ticket with Menno’s Detours, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted the following general terms and conditions, and that an agreement has been concluded with the following parties.

Cancellation and Refund The statutory right of withdrawal (14-day cooling-off period) does not apply to travel services for a specific date or period, as specified in Article 6:230p(e) of the Dutch Civil Code. Tours purchased on Menno’s Detours.com are refunded if requested at least 24 hours before departure. Cancellations for tours starting within the next 24 hours are not refunded. Private tours of several days purchased on Menno’s Detours.com are refunded if requested at least 60 days before departure. If the request is made between 60 and 30 days before departure, the refund is 50%. Cancellations received less than 30 days before departure are fully charged. Please note that different cancellation conditions may apply if you made your booking via a third party. For tours purchased via travel agencies, you will be refunded as described in their policy.

Cancellation by Menno’s Detours We reserve the right to cancel or amend a tour if the minimum number of participants is not reached. The minimum number of participants is 3 for direct bookings via our website, or 4 participants via an external provider. We reserve the right to cancel or amend a tour at any time in the interest of passenger safety.

Check-in Deadline Check-in deadlines apply and may be strictly enforced. To ensure your tour departs on time, you must be present at the pick-up location 20 minutes before departure. Arrival after the check-in deadline may result in loss of your tour and the full paid price. We are not liable for any direct or indirect damage you suffer as a result of your late arrival at the bus.

Health/Safety All tours involve a certain degree of risk and by participating in the tour offered by us, you expressly accept these risks personally and indemnify us and our officers and employees, to the maximum extent permitted by law, from any liability, claims, losses, damages or costs caused by any event whatsoever, including but not limited to: personal injury or death, loss or damage to property, acts that may be considered negligent or accidental, any other loss, damage, suffering, emotional or nervous disorder. To ensure maximum safety and enjoyment of the tour for yourself and other passengers, you must follow all reasonable instructions from our staff before, during and after the tour, and you agree to ensure that any children in your care do the same. You are at all times responsible for the safety and protection of your own personal belongings. Even if you have a booking, we may refuse to take you if we reasonably believe that your transportation may endanger the safety or health of a person on the tour or our affiliated partners, or if you have not followed the instructions of our staff or crew regarding safety or security, or if you require special assistance and have not made arrangements for this in advance, or if you are drunk or under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or if we reasonably believe you are in possession of illegal drugs.

Liability All activities are undertaken entirely at the customer’s own risk. Customers must always behave fit and correctly in accordance with the guidelines of Menno’s Detours and must take the necessary responsibility for their own safety. All tours and outdoor activities involve inherent risks. Menno’s Detours accepts no responsibility for accidents caused by its customers or caused by factors beyond human control (force majeure). Menno’s Detours, its managers and staff accept no responsibility or liability for loss or damage to passengers’ property. By purchasing your trip, you agree to these conditions, understand their implications and accept responsibility for your participation in your tour.

Guarantees Although Menno’s Detours strives to provide accurate information, the website may contain incorrect, incomplete or outdated information. We accept no responsibility for errors or omissions in the content of the website and do not commit to updating such information. Menno’s Detours is not liable for damage related to the use of, or reliance on, the website or such information, functions, materials or services.

By purchasing a ticket with Menno’s Detours, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted the following general terms and conditions, and that an agreement has been concluded with the following parties.

Applicability These terms and conditions apply to all quotations, offers, work, assignments, agreements and provision of services by or on behalf of Menno’s Detours. Parties may only deviate from these terms and conditions if they have expressly agreed to do so in writing. Parties expressly exclude the applicability of supplementary and/or deviating (general) terms and conditions of the customer or third parties.

Offers and Quotations Offers and quotations from Menno’s Detours are without obligation, unless expressly stated otherwise. An offer or quotation is valid for a maximum of two (2) weeks after the date, unless another acceptance period is stated in the offer or quotation. If the customer does not accept an offer or quotation within the applicable period, the offer or quotation expires. Offers and quotations do not apply to repeat orders, unless parties have expressly agreed to this in writing.

Prices All prices used by Menno’s Detours, both on the website, on the platforms of external suppliers and in its offers and quotations, are in EUR (€), including VAT and any other costs such as administration fees and levies, unless otherwise stated or agreed. Menno’s Detours is at all times entitled to adjust all prices for its products and services, shown on its website, the websites of external suppliers or otherwise. If a price is changed by Menno’s Detours after purchase, the customer has 24 hours after notification to choose a full refund. Parties agree on a total price or price per person (per day) for a service offered by Menno’s Detours. There are no refund possibilities later than 24 hours before the start of the tour.

Payments Regular Tours via Website or External Suppliers Tours purchased on Menno’s Detours website or on the website of an external supplier, such as (but not exclusively) GetYourGuide, Tripadvisor (Viator), must always be paid in full at the time of booking.

Payments Private Tours (Multi-day Tours) via Website or External Suppliers Private tours purchased on Menno’s Detours website or on the website of an external supplier, such as (but not exclusively) GetYourGuide, Tripadvisor (Viator), are always paid in full at the time of booking.

Payments Multi-day Trips Travel Agency Menno’s Detours requires a deposit of 50% within 14 days after the date on the agreed quotation. The remaining amount must be paid 60 days before the start of the trip. Payment terms are final deadlines. This means that if the customer has not paid the agreed amount no later than the last day of the payment term, they are in default by operation of law, without Menno’s Detours having to send a reminder or put the customer in default.

Consequences of Late Payment for Multi-day Tours Travel Agents If the customer does not pay within the agreed period, Menno’s Detours is entitled to charge interest of 2% on the agreed total amount per month from the day the customer is in default, with part of a month counted as a whole month. If the customer does not pay on time, Menno’s Detours may suspend its obligations until the customer has fulfilled its payment obligation. All extra costs resulting from this suspension of obligations are at the customer’s expense, such as but not limited to purchases, reservations, fines or 2+ hours of personal time on behalf of Menno’s Detours. In the event of liquidation, bankruptcy, attachment or suspension of payment on the part of the customer, the claims of Menno’s Detours on the customer are immediately due and payable. If the customer refuses to cooperate in the execution of the agreement by Menno’s Detours, they are still obliged to pay the agreed total price to Menno’s Detours.

Right of Withdrawal: Regular Tours and Private Tours Tours booked via mennosdetours.com are refunded if requested at least 24 hours before departure. Cancellations received less than 24 hours before departure are fully charged. Please note that different cancellation conditions may apply if you booked via a third party. For tours booked via travel agencies, you will receive a refund as described in their policy.

Right of Withdrawal Multi-day Trips / Tailor-made Multi-day trips can be cancelled free of charge up to 60 days before the departure date, excluding mediation fees and entrance tickets for museums and attractions booked by Menno’s Detours for the customer. For certain museums and attractions, entrance tickets must be purchased well in advance to secure the date and time slot. If cancelled between 59 and 30 days before departure date, cancellation costs are 50% of the total amount. If cancelled within 29 days before departure date, cancellation costs are 100% of the total amount. The minimum number of participants for multi-day trips is 4. This means that if the group size, due to individual cancellations, is less than 4 persons, the regular cancellation costs apply for the individual cancellations and the customer is obliged to pay for a minimum of 4 guests.

Cancellation by Menno’s Detours – Regular and (multi-day) Private Tours We reserve the right to cancel or amend a tour if the minimum number of participants is not reached. The minimum number of participants is 2 for direct bookings via our website, or 3 participants via an external provider. We reserve the right to cancel or amend a tour at any time in the interest of passenger safety. The customer has the right to transfer their booking to a comparable tour on another date or choose a full refund. The cancellation is initiated by Menno’s Detours.

Cancellation by Menno’s Detours – Multi-day Tours Travel Agents If one of the owners, also drivers and guides, of Menno’s Detours is unable to carry out the tour due to force majeure, Menno’s Detours will provide replacement drivers and/or guides itself.

Check-in Deadline – Regular and (multi-day) Private Tours Check-in deadlines apply and may be strictly enforced. You must be present at the pick-up location at least 20 minutes before the indicated departure time. If you arrive later, participation may be refused and no refund will be given. We are not liable for any direct or indirect damage you suffer as a result of your late arrival at the pick-up location. Make sure Menno’s Detours is notified by telephone as soon as possible of any delays. Messages of any kind are not sufficient unless responded to.

Health and Safety All tours involve a certain degree of risk and by participating in the tour offered by us, you expressly accept these risks personally and indemnify us and our officers and employees, to the maximum extent permitted by law, from any liability, claims, losses, damages or costs caused by any event whatsoever, including but not limited to: personal injury or death, loss or damage to property, acts that may be considered negligent or accidental, any other loss, damage, suffering, emotional or nervous disorder. To ensure maximum safety and enjoyment of the tour for yourself and other passengers, you must follow all reasonable instructions from our staff before, during and after the tour, and you agree to ensure that any children in your care do the same. You are at all times responsible for the safety and protection of your own personal belongings. Even if you have a booking, we may refuse to transport you if we reasonably believe that your transportation may endanger the safety or health of any of the participants in the tour or our affiliated partners, or if you have not followed the instructions of our staff or crew regarding safety or security, or if you require special assistance and have not made arrangements for this, or if you are drunk or under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or if we reasonably believe you are in possession of illegal drugs. In that case, you are not entitled to a refund.

Insurance Customers taking a regular, private or multi-day trip are required to have adequate travel and health insurance upon arrival.

Cycling Tours Wearing a helmet is mandatory. Cycling is only permitted under the guidance of your guide and on the designated routes. Menno’s Detours determines which bicycle is most suitable for the participants for safety reasons. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Cycling in other locations/routes than indicated and pointed out by the guide is not permitted. You must have full health and liability insurance for: injury, damage to the bikes or property of third parties. You must carry proof of insurance during the tour.

General Refund Conditions Menno’s Detours does not refund money if a group member decides not to participate in the daily tours or activities. Alternative transport is at your own expense. Although we can suggest and arrange hotels, we cannot book them for you.

Customer Information Obligation The customer is obliged to provide all information, data and documents relevant to the correct execution of the booked activities, in the desired form and manner to Menno’s Detours. The customer guarantees the accuracy, completeness and reliability of the information, data and documents provided, even if they originate from third parties. If and insofar as the customer requests, Menno’s Detours will return or destroy the relevant documents after the trip(s). If the customer does not provide the information, data and documents reasonably required by Menno’s Detours on time and/or properly and the execution of the trip planning is delayed as a result, the resulting extra costs and extra hours will be charged to the customer.

By purchasing your trip, you agree to these conditions, understand their implications and accept responsibility for your participation during your tour. A separate declaration must be signed for cycling tours.

Complaints If a delivered service does not meet what you may reasonably expect from Menno’s Detours and/or the delivered service(s), you must inform Menno’s Detours as soon as possible, but no later than a week after the delivered service(s) has/have taken place. You must provide a written description of the deficiency(ies) as detailed as possible, so that Menno’s Detours can respond adequately. We strive to resolve your complaint within one week of receipt (excluding weekends). We strive to resolve all complaints within 4 weeks of receipt (excluding weekends). After we have investigated your complaint, we will send you a final written response and let you know whether we have found the complaint justified. If we have found your complaint justified, we will let you know how we will resolve your dissatisfaction. If you agree with the solution, we consider the complaint closed. If we have not found your complaint justified, we will inform you and indicate how we reached this result. If we cannot resolve your complaint within the prescribed eight weeks, we will let you know when we can resolve the complaint.
